Cyber Security EU 2016 are pleased to welcome back Detective Inspector Geoff Halpin
Geoff is a Detective Inspector with the NPCC North East Regional Policing team with extensive experience investigating serious organised cybercrime while leading the Yorkshire & Humber Regional Cybercrime Unit.
He now leads a specially trained team working with partners in law enforcement, industry and academia to investigate and prevent the most serious online criminality at a regional, national and international level.
He came to law enforcement from an academic background, having studied computing at university including security, artificial intelligence and neural networking/pattern recognition.
He has over 20 years’ experience as a police officer in Nottinghamshire, West Yorkshire, at the Regional Organised Crime Unit and the NPCC working in a variety of specialisms including homicide investigation, serious and organised crime, intelligence and cybercrime. He has a particular interest in the use of computers for predictive policing including crime and disorder prevention and intelligence development.
